R2 Bluetooth Remote (GTR Series & Stoke)

This control broke after 5 days it was used is incredible is my third r2 remote control in less than two months I need of guarantee s new phaze remote control is the third r2 remote in 2 months

I have already went through 3 remote controls. Always breaks. Horrible design.
The hinge that holds breaking button depends on a small plastic apendige. That small plastic thing broke for the third time. Just mid driving. Not even dropping it this time. (2 previous ones were lightly dropped). And it costs $150 to replace it. Build quality is no more than $7 dollars. And feels like designed to break.

I have got my one board second hand and it came with a r2 reomte I used it for one day and it died and had only a white screen I looked online and it seems to be a common problem I love the way it works and it's comfortable however I need a new screen which they only seem to sell in the USA I will pay up to 35 quid for one.

Reviews all over online are true. Remote is as durable as box of cereal. Joke product from a company that sells $1500+ boards. I wish I listened to reviews from everybody saying not to buy these boards because of the customer service because everything you read online is true. Don't buy from these scammers.

Super fragile thing, I've gone through two of them in less than a year... now I'm ordering my 3rd... 2 or the 3 broken remotes were barely a 2' drop evolve please improve this item, this is the last one I'm buying before I sell this board and stop buying from you guys. Which sucks because I love the board (carbon series gtr)! But I'm sorry the remotes are fragile POS.

I have had my board for a little over a year. The first day I stepped on it and broke the screen but it still worked so it wasn’t much of a problem for me. Although I fell for the first time today and the break button snapped in half and the go button got jammed so it’s down bad.

The remote looks nice but despite purchasing the rubber "protection" grip, the remote is just not robust to deal with the smallest of drops e.g. bending to put my knee pads on, this fell from my pocket and the display was non-functional. To their credit (as I had purchased a lot of gear from evolve) they replaced the first one. The replacement remote however, has also developed a similar faulty display - I can't recall any impact/drop and it's expensive to buy a new one.

As a second note - this remote takes a lot of getting used to, it is very sensitive on the braking and acceleration trigger regardless of whether it is on custom/eco/pro. You also need to choose wrist protection carefully to ensure the grip/ergonomics do not affect your ability to safely control the triggers.

The spring holding the brake button in the off postion came off while riding the board and sent me over the front because the brake engaged as there was no tension holding the brake off.
Road rash and a bust thumb aren't fun, such a shame as the board is fantastic but the controller is poor.

These remotes are the biggest piece of junks on the planet. You drop them once, and they break. Even with the silicone sleeve. I have had to buy 4 of these already. It's a good way to make money, because the board is useless with out it.

When will this be available again? I bought one before and loved it!!!

Got mine with my GTR Carbon All-Terrain (gen4 i think) and everything worked fine but it broke twice on the inside and jammed the controls. So i opened it the first time and everything was fine. The second time, same problem, but the lcd disply broke too. I think the problem is the strength of the springs inside for the resets.

Love it but it failed me twice without heavy use. Under 1 year of use.

The remote is already broken with little use. Now I see they are out of stock. Needs to be more robust.

Bought the remote and as I was going down a hill the spring in the brake button broke. I fell off. Bty I bearly used the remote. I believe it’s a manufacturing issue. Waited 4 months for it and wasted my money. I would not recommend getting this remote.

This is a very good upgrade from the R2 remote. Build quality is clearly much better. Metal chassis compared with the old plastic one. USB C port is better situated for easier charging. Screen quality is good. If I had one complaint, it would be that the battery indicator is very small and I find it hard to easily check the status while riding. Maybe a choice of display layout? I would prioritise battery over speed.

i really wished i saved my money one, my controller bearly lasted 2 months before the brake leaver broke on me for the second time

It is fragile one bump and it doesn’t work anymore, I have been trying to order for about 10 months and haven’t seen any available the entire time! Can’t use my very expensive nice electric long board!

When it's working, it's a great, responsive remote... I never had the connection issues that other riders have been experiencing. The problem I have is how one tumble will cause the remote to malfunction. I'm currently looking for a third remote, and it seems to always be out of stock.... No bueno!👎

Great remote, responsive and sleek. I’d give it 5 stars but it is too fragile. I love the compatibility between boards

Really disappointed I have now been without the ability to ride after spending almost $1200 on the board and another 150 in the wrong remote just to find out that the board and talk at all with any other remote even with the ability to soldered in new receiver Status it’s really disappointing to see that he put a monopoly on his remote and can’t even produce it enough to replace the low quality of the remote is a parent being is it they can’t keep in stock. Maybe instead of putting bandit and pissing all your clients off leaving a college stranded with no hors in regretting our purchases you should invest in making an actual quality remote you can keep them in stock and people won’t have to buy them every three months. Bad business. I’ve been on the waiting list for months. Finally got the email saying my remote was ready but when I went to go purchase it again mind you have already purchased hard to remote not realizing the Bluetooth was not compatible with my GTX board, it was already gone and pulled out cannot put into words how frustrating this entire experience has been and highly recommend going with a different company until they can call sis shoe how they can solve this crippling issue that should’ve been handled before putting them into production in my opinion shame on you evolve. For. shame.
