R2 Bluetooth Remote (GTR Series & Stoke)

This is a very good upgrade from the R2 remote. Build quality is clearly much better. Metal chassis compared with the old plastic one. USB C port is better situated for easier charging. Screen quality is good. If I had one complaint, it would be that the battery indicator is very small and I find it hard to easily check the status while riding. Maybe a choice of display layout? I would prioritise battery over speed.

Can’t fault a thing! Ergonomic, looks great, feels great

3 stars on this because I have found that one of the screws that hold the remote together has come apart. The plastic mount that the screw screws into that holds the remote together has broken and haven't knocked it round so may be a bit weak. Nothing that a bit of tape and a remote cover can't fix.

I actually don't mind the split trigger set up, and otherwise the remote does all the basic things that it needs to do. Anything in addition to the 'go and stop functions' are really just periphery for what I use the board for. The couple of things that would be great improves for me: reducing the sensitivity of the brake in GTR mode - going at a reasonable speed, anything but the smallest pressure slams way too much braking on. I get the importance of slowing down quickly for safety at high speed but that trigger sensitivity is just going to throw most riders off. I find myself switching back to PRO mode in order to brake but that isn't always viable when I'm hurtling along quickly and need to just brake. The second thing is not being able to see the screen clearly in normal daylight - I almost always have to use my other hand held over the remote to shield enough of the sunlight out so I can actually read the screen.

So far so good. Obviously, controller takes some practice to get used to and use intuitively owing to the sheer power and responsiveness of the board. Have had 1 or 3 hiccups with trigger response since starting to ride but none that weren't easily trouble-shot through trigger reset function. Pairing, charging, changing settings and display are all extremely easy and intuitive.
