Phaze Remote

My original remote had broken last year. I just received the gold version of this and I am so stoked to get back out and ride. I also upgraded to the oil slick ceramic bearings and it made a world of difference. These bearing spin for what seems an eternity. Evolve coming through with another quality product.

Great to get a new remote the gold is pretty loud so I ended up making it a custom colour. Worked brilliantly.

This is significantly different from the R2 version. Such an improvement for a smoother ride. Pic of my old one and now the new.

This new remote is so much better,eliminating the sudden dropping out of wifi,which would near throw you over the handlebars.😩 thanks so much for the upgrade,I can roll with ease n confidence to tear up the Tarmak. 😜
Did a soft feel wrap n colour code, to have my best friend say could I wrap his aswell. Now cruzin with comfort n style. 😁👍

Awesome piece of kit for sure , unfortunately my e board (GT) no longer goes due to the battery been abit long in the tooth . Tried to purchase a new one but told they no longer supply GT & GTX batteries ....... real bummer , now probably sell my whole kit , REMOTE & all , no point in keeping it .......dead weight

Used lots of varieties of controllers. This oni rate as quite tough and reliable. Couple of odd things with calibration. When it's due to calibrate your throttle and brakes. Once completed you loose all your personal set up on the controller. Eg deadman switch, if you had it off it will be back on again. Speed limiter puts that back to factory default as well . Very annoying other than that very smooth and tough controller

I needed a new remote and they showed me the new one that works with my older board.
It feels heavier then my old one, which is great it feels more sturdy and planned out. The display is quite vibrant too. All round great remote its even got the old computer but the triggers are much nicer and a fair bit more sensitive then the R2. Its usbc so i can charge it with my own cables its great. I admire the new look.
Go buy it if you haven't already.

I just bought my carbon board second hand, it came with a new r2 remote, I had the remote sitting in my lap squatting down and when I went to stand up the remote dropped 40 cm and cracked in half like a egg, I wish to buy a new remote but am annoyed I can’t buy another r2 (original remote)

Yeah 1 accident that left 2 chips barley even damaged the remote so I'm left questioning how strong it really is I'm pretty disappointed as it states it is very strong a ra ra ra.

I dropped my R2 remote for my Bamboo GTR (3-4 years old?) recently and the screen got messed up, so I went to buy a new remote. I was told that only the Phaze remote was now available, but it works with the GTR. It worked great for about a half hour on my first ride. The second time using the Phaze remote, I was about two minutes into a ride, I was on flat ground and my tires were pumped up correctly. The batteries were not warm, and I was on the pavement with my all-terrain wheels. Suddenly, I felt the phase remote “buzz” in my hand. I looked down and saw the Evolve logo on the screen of my Phaze remote. A half second later, my wheels came to a dead stop. I flew off my board at about 12 mph and my shoulder, knees and elbows all took damage. It’s now been five or six days and my shoulder still feels like I cannot use it normally. I haven’t been to the gym, and I still haven’t seen a doctor. I’m hoping it’s an injury that’ll just go away with several more days of rest. I still have scabs on several parts of my body. I’ve been riding this skateboard almost daily for several years now after riding an eGlide board for a few years before that, so I know this was not rider error. I contacted Evolve and they told me that I needed to update the firmware on the Phaze because it came with firmware set up for the Renegade, and that firmware has been causing problems for people using the Phaze remote on some older models of boards. I updated the firmware and now the Phaze remote has given me two 45 minute (nervous) rides without throwing me into the street. Luckily I was in a residential area, and luckily I don’t think I’ve broken anything in my arm, although I do believe it is a fairly serious injury that will take several more days before it feels normal. When I bought the Phaze, I was very clear with the guy at Evolve through email that I was using this for a bamboo GTR board, yet he didn’t mention that I would need to update the firmware for the remote when it arrived or I might end up in the hospital. This was rather disturbing. And it could’ve been a lot worse.

It’s is more robust than the earlier, (R2?), remote.
I don’t like wearing a lanyard, so that’s important for me.
The display is also easier to read, bigger.

The remote control is good, but I'm not sure if I just had bad luck or what, as it keeps disconnecting or resetting very frequently. It seems like I might have received a faulty unit. Other than that, the remote is excellent!

Dropped from waist high and the glass cracked and screen never came back on…… to get TO THE WEBSITE and see they are already completely sold out of remotes makes me heavily regret buying the 2,000$ all terrain gtr.

It arrived promptly, and I’m very happy with it’s performance! Only issue was attaching the strap, which required purchasing a torque wrench.

Feels really tough compared to the original gtr, it was super easy to connect, and not sure if it’s all in my head, but it feels more responsive, though that caught me by surprise with the braking. Also, arrived next day, the only issue I had was the website said it would come with a case, which it did not, and it is the Bluetooth remote.

Good build quality

I noticed a significant improvement in ride quality and control ability as soon as I used my new Phaze remote for my GTR. I'm very happy and have already recommended them to my friends.
