Drive Gears

I noticed my belts felt a bit off, so I went to adjust the motor plates and tighten the belt tension. That's when I discovered my old drive gears were completely worn down and needed replacement.

These Street Drive Gears did exactly what I needed them to do and got me back on the road. Installation was straightforward, and the board felt great again once everything was set up.

One thing to note: these gears do not come with bearings, so make sure to order a set before installing them. Fortunately, I already had some spare bearings on hand, but it could easily delay your repair if you're not prepared.

I recently bought some ABEC 11’s from the Evolve store… this was before I got my Diablo which is amazing by the way, so I put those wheels and the pulleys on another board, and they work quite well… I still have to break in the 11’s but so far so good!

Aside from the fact that the description is not enough to go off of they don't show any pictures of the item you are about to buy. I bought an all terrain drive gear and tried to return it because it was the wrong part only to get ghosted. I was well within the time limit to return but never got a response. This is a horrible company with no accountability. Not even a follow up to correct the mistake. I still have the part but have no use for it. The remote has almost caused me to crash at least twice because it just accelerated with no brakes to then just cutting off. I will never buy evolve products again and will advise anyone against them.

Maintenance time on my GTR the drive gears and belts are so easy a simple to replace I was up and running in less the 5 mins.

when shopping for a new esk8, people need to think of BALANCE. no not actual physical balance. i mean a right amount or attribute without compromising elsewhere. evolve has the perfect amount of range, power, quality, accessories, innovation, features, technology, customer service and warranty.. yet people only look at a spec sheet and price rather then understand VALUE. once a board comes out that has a 12s setup WITH a flex deck setup and has more features, then i can MAYBE call it “overpriced”… in the meantime, its a fantastic board.

I found that there wasn't much of a option but you can't go wrong with the price for a pair of these.

I managed to get the belt tension correct this time. (after all the issues i had/have with my abec 38t tension) rear wheels spin freely and there's no belt slippage.

I would give 5 stars but theres still the issue of too much initial bite while braking when going top speed. I have to remote set to 38t (this happens with my 107 abecs too) but im guessing that adjusts the speedometer and not the braking curve . Its like the motor controller isn't taking into account the extra braking power of 38T as it needs to be way less abrupt than that

I'll skip the part where I talk about the use of the gear. EVOLVE made it. You should know by now it's going to work perfectly. What I'm going to speak of is the look. WOW! It's a thing of beauty. They have two sizes. After ordering one and seeing it, I bought the other size. I have one set, which isn't being used on my RENEGADE hanging on the wall. It's like an art piece. So, you want my advice? Don't buy one, BUY BOTH!

The CNC gear calmed down the chartter and noise the stock gear. better on the belts as well.

At some point in the past year or so (when I first bought my renegade diablo), the right rear of my board received a knock that was hard enough to move the tube valve out of alignment with the rim slot. My best guess is that same collision is what may have initially damaged the gear drive, though not enough to affect it's performance, or for even for me to notice the valve misalignment. Somewhere between 6 to 12 months later, I rode through a tiny stream and must have collected a small rock between that gear and the drive belt, which provided enough force to finally cause the drive gear to crack beyond function, and relative belt to partially snap. This review is for the original drive gear and belt, which lasted for almost a year, even with me riding across very rocky and uneven terrain on multiple occasions. I just put the new one on yesterday, so I can review that if I ever need to replace it. Big thanks to the Evolve Team for their ongoing customer support and the best board I've ever had the pleasure of riding 👍👍

My Diablo has to hit over 40 mph with these on it! Now it is TO FAST! 🤣

I had high hopes but disappointed! They made that annoying click from friction sound with rotation and overall just louder operation even with new belts. Similar to how the bearings will click from friction inside the wheels but solved with a little grease . Grease only temporarily works for the gear to wheel contact. The CNC gears have less surface area contact compared to the plastic, assuming to keep the weight down. I put the original plastic gears back on and very quiet. Oh well! Still love this thing! Just wish I can get a reliable remote that will charge! Strike two with that! Grr!
